Problem: One of the most common problems caused by improper use of windows and condensation (evaporation) of the surface of the glass unit. Condensation can also collect on windowsills and slopes.
Cause: This is common in poorly ventilated homes, homes without central heating, or homes with poor work. The same is true if the threshold covers the radiator, in a room with lots of indoor vegetation (watering the vegetation creates additional moisture), and if the room is not ventilated at all. Plastic windows, unlike old wooden windows, are very tight and can cause serious problems in high humidity as moisture accumulates in the room and settles on the glass in the form of a condensate. This can happen because the temperature inside the glass unit or window frame is much lower than the room temperature. By itself, plastic windows do not contribute to the formation of condensation at that location. They protect against the cold, wind and noise and contribute to the comfort of the home.
Solution: If you ventilate the room more often, this problem does not occur (34 times a day for 1015 minutes and every morning for 1520 minutes). While ventilating, open the window as wide as possible or set it aside for a long time in decompression mode (handle rotated 45 degrees). If there is condensation inside the double glazing unit, it must be replaced at the manufacturer’s expense. Of course, if you still have a NorcoWindow warranty. If not, we recommend that you call us to resolve this issue immediately. Some other issues seen in Norco windows.
Problem: The window sash opens in two planes (the upper bracket is not pressed) and the sash is held only by the lower bracket and cannot be closed completely.
Cause: The wing opening is incorrect (the handle is spinning very fast) and is in the flip position.
Solution: Push the profile by hand to close the retaining latch, push the release lock (tab under the handle) as far as possible into the box, rotate the handle to the folded position, and then open the normal opening. Everything fits in place. If that doesn’t work, contact the company that installed the window or contact us directly.
